The Role

As a Health & Social Care Teacher, you will

  • Plan and deliver engaging Health & Social Care lessons to students across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
  • Teach vocational qualifications including BTEC Health & Social Care or equivalent courses.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Support students in developing both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of the health and social care sector.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing targeted intervention where required.
  • Prepare students for coursework, controlled assessments, and examinations.
  • Encourage learners to develop employability skills and an understanding of professional practice within the care sector.
  • Contribute to enrichment activities, careers events, and curriculum development within the department.
  • We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Health & Social Care within a UK secondary school or further education setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with BTEC or vocational Health & Social Care qualifications.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A passion for helping young people develop the skills and knowledge needed for careers in health and social care.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
