The Role
As an English Teacher, you will
- Plan and deliver engaging English Language and English Literature lessons that inspire a love of reading and writing.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of all abilities.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations, helping them achieve excellent outcomes.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using data to inform planning and intervention.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, intervention sessions, and departmental initiatives.
- We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school.
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A passion for inspiring young people and raising attainment.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
