Engage Education are currently working in partnership with an all through school on an exciting new SEND Mental Health Support assistant position specifically to support learners with SEMH needs, in particular those displaying challenging behaviours as a result, in the Bexhill area.
Starting immediately, the school is looking for an SEND Mental Health Support assistant to join them on a long term basis. If the role goes well there is the potential for this to turn into a permanent assignment.
This specialist school supports children and young people aged 6 to 16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). These learners are diagnosed with SEMH needs, as well as a diagnosis of ADHD or Trauma & Attachment needs – so a compassionate, nurturing and resilient personality are required!
This school provides a safe and nurturing environment where individual needs—whether social, emotional, or learning-based—are met with care and understanding. Your Role
- Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex behavioural needs
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Be available 8:30-3:30pm, full-time (Mon-Fri)

- A range of behaviour management techniques
- To have worked with learners with a range of needs
- The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods
- To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
- A resilient attitude
