Engage Education is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for a secondary school in Ashford, Surrey, starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong behaviour management skills who can build positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations. The school is looking for an individual who is calm under pressure, consistent in their approach, and committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning.

The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Build positive relationships with students to improve engagement, attendance, and behaviour.
- Work closely with the pastoral team, teachers, and senior leaders to implement behaviour support plans.
- Support students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to re-engage with learning.
- Promote positive behaviour by setting clear expectations and acting as a positive role model.
- Record student progress and contribute to behaviour reviews and intervention strategies.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or a similar setting.
- Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and can confidently manage challenging situations.
- Is resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can motivate and inspire students to make positive choices.
- Is passionate about supporting young people to achieve both academically and personally.
