1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Required for a Mainstream Primary School in North Leeds

About the role

At Engage Education, we’ve specialised in recruiting teaching assistants for over a decade, so we know a bit about finding the ideal school for you. We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work temporarily at a fantastic primary school in North Leeds. This is to start ASAP and will be full time, it may go permanent for the right member of staff. The role is to support a brand new pupil in year 2 who has a diagnosis of Autism. Experience with Autism is essential and so is school experience within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Working with small groups of pupils
• Working on a one-to-one basis with children with additional needs
• Providing personal and emotional care for pupils when needed
• Managing classroom behaviour
• Providing intervention/SATS support for students

The ideal applicant will have

• Some experience working with young children or in a UK school setting within the last 2 years
• A real passion for education and improving the attainment of pupils
• Bags of creativity for stimulating and engaging pupils
• Level 3 support staff qualification is desired but is not essential providing you have professional Special Needs experience
