We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a successful secondary school in Wigan.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will

  • Supervise classes across a variety of subjects when teachers are unavailable.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain engaged with their learning.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's expectations and values.
  • Support students to achieve their best academically and personally.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and engagement.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has experience working with young people in an education, youth work or mentoring setting.
  • Is confident managing groups of secondary-aged students.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Is calm, adaptable and able to build positive relationships.
  • Has a passion for supporting students' learning and development.
  • Shares the values and ethos of Catholic education.

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, youth worker or similar role would be advantageous.
