Job Description

Teaching Assistant needed – Primary School in Croydon

We\’re working with a large, welcoming primary school in Croydon that\’s looking for a teaching assistant to join their team. This is a school with high expectations for all children and a real focus on helping every pupil make strong progress, whatever their starting point. Just as importantly, they genuinely care about staff wellbeing and have built a positive, inclusive and warm culture where people enjoy coming to work.

About the role

Engage Education has been placing teaching assistants into schools for over ten years, so we understand what makes a good match for both staff and schools. We\’re currently looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2 on a temporary basis.

You\’ll be working closely with class teachers and other support staff, helping children to stay engaged, build confidence and move forward in their learning.

Day-to-day, the role may involve:

  • Supporting small groups of pupils in class
  • Delivering intervention sessions
  • Providing additional support for KS1 and KS2 pupils who need it

Who we\’re looking for

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a real difference in a school setting. Ideally, you\’ll have:

  • Some experience working in a school or with primary-aged children
  • A genuine interest in education and helping pupils reach their potential
  • A creative and positive approach to supporting learning
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 support staff qualification (or working towards one)
