We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in South Leeds for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to make a positive impact on children's educational journey.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils across the primary age range.

You may be supporting children on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, or within the classroom setting to help them access learning and reach their individual goals.

This is a full time, long term position to start in September.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging learning activities.
  • Providing targeted support for children with additional learning needs and SEND.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a nurturing learning environment.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Supporting children during lessons, break times and school activities where required.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare or educational setting.
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Applicants must hold a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and appropriate qualifications.
