Teaching Assistant in Salford

Location: Salford

Salary: £95 – £100 PAYE

Start date: September 2026

Working hours: 8.30am – 3pm

About the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, compassionate and motivated to make a meaningful difference. You will work closely with lecturers and support staff to provide consistent, person-centred support and help create a calm, positive and empowering learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in delivering personalised learning programmes
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to promote engagement, communication, and independence
  • Assist learners with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and daily routines
  • Implement strategies that encourage positive behaviour and develop life skills
  • Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support teams to ensure consistent support

Essential skills & attributes:

  • Experience supporting young people or adults with SEND (ASD, learning disabilities and/or complex needs desirable)
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to follow individual support plans and positive behaviour strategies
  • Resilience, flexibility, and a proactive attitude
