About the Role
A supportive and inclusive secondary school in the Sale area is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join the team on a long-term basis from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive TA who is passionate about supporting students across Secondary Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a key role in helping learners access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. The role will involve working closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support both in and out of the classroom, including small group work and one-to-one intervention where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students across KS3 and KS4 in a range of subjects
- Assist teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences
- Provide targeted academic and pastoral support to individuals and small groups
- Help students with additional learning needs to access the curriculum
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation
- Contribute to student progress monitoring and feedback
- Support exam preparation and intervention sessions where needed
Person Specification
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting
- Strong understanding of KS3 and KS4 curriculum expectations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient, and supportive approach to working with young people
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Experience supporting students with additional needs (desirable)
- A proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
