We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and student-centred Pastoral Lead to join a thriving secondary school in the Wigan area. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional to play a key role in shaping a positive, inclusive and supportive school culture where every student can thrive.

The successful candidate will lead on pastoral care across a designated year group(s), working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, families and external agencies to promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and personal development. You will be confident in managing complex safeguarding and pastoral issues, while also building strong, trusting relationships with young people.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Lead and develop effective pastoral systems and interventions
  • Support students to overcome barriers to learning and achievement
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations across the school
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external partners
  • Contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes
  • Use data to identify trends and drive improvement in attendance, behaviour and wellbeing

The ideal candidate will have experience in a pastoral or student support role within a secondary setting, strong communication skills, resilience, and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people. In return, we offer a supportive leadership team.
