This is an excellent opportunity for graduates in Sports Coaching, Physical Education, Sports Science, Exercise Science, or related disciplines who are passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.

The Role

As an SEN Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

You will

  • Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Deliver engaging physical activities to encourage participation, teamwork, and confidence.
  • Use sport and movement to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging independence and self-esteem.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Support pupils during break times, PE lessons, enrichment activities, and educational visits where required.
  • We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who have

  • A degree in Sports Coaching, Sports Science, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or a related subject.
  • Experience working with children or young people through coaching, mentoring, tutoring, sports clubs, youth work, or volunteering.
  • A positive, resilient, and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • The right to work in the UK.

No previous school experience is essential—we value transferable skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
