A dedicated and technically skilled IT Technician is needed to join our school’s support staff team as soon as possible. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for someone who enjoys working in an educational environment and is passionate about supporting staff and students with their technology needs.

You will play a key role in maintaining and developing our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide first and second-line technical support to staff and students
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues (PCs, laptops, interactive whiteboards, projectors, printers, etc.)
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions in Active Directory and other school systems
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure hardware is properly tracked and updated
  • Support classroom technology including audio/visual equipment and learning platforms
  • Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware as required
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, safeguarding, and school IT policies
  • Liaise with external IT providers or technicians where needed
  • Assist in the delivery of IT projects and upgrades across the school
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in an IT support role, preferably within an educational or public sector environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
  • Ability to support networking, internet, and wireless systems
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Highly organised with a methodical and proactive approach to tasks
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one before starting)
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCP, etc.)
  • Experience using school systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, or similar MIS platforms)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and e-safety in an educational setting
  • Must have worked / working in the IT sector
