High Level Teaching Assistant HLTA Apprenticeship – Secondary School
Whether you have recently left university or are looking for a career change, a Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship with a Level 4 HLTA status combined qualification is the perfect opportunity to learn whilst working in an exciting and engaging environment. Learning can be delivered in person and online while you work and can be completed within your first year at the school, and even better, the cost of the qualification is covered by your employer.
About the role:
This teaching assistant role is based in an ambitious and thriving secondary school in Kentish Town. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic apprentice for the role starting in September 2025. You will be providing additional support to pupils in the classroom to help raise the levels of attainment.
- Assisting in the delivery of effective teaching on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, leading to teaching whole classes as a HLTA
- Helping with the planning and delivery of lessons
- Supporting pupils with their educational and behavioural development
- Preparing classroom resources
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Helping with extracurricular activities (e.g. revision sessions)

The ideal candidate:
- Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their academic potential
- Proficient numeracy and literacy skills (Grade 4 / C or above in both English and Mathematics)
- Lived or worked in the UK longer than 3 years
- Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
- A minimum 12 months commitment is required for completion of the course
