Job Description We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Halifax working 1:1 with a child with additional needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about providing tailored support and helping a child overcome barriers to learning, develop their confidence and reach their full potential.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child with additional needs throughout the school day
- Supporting the child to access the curriculum through personalised and differentiated activities
- Building a positive, trusting relationship with the child and providing consistent support
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans and strategies
- Supporting the child's social, emotional and behavioural development
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning
- Helping the child develop their communication, social and learning skills
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the class teacher and wider support team
- Creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where the child can thrive
What we're looking for:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a 1:1 capacity
- A patient, calm and compassionate approach
- The ability to build strong and positive relationships with children
- Good understanding of how to support children with additional needs
- Adaptable and confident in responding to individual needs and behaviours
- Ability to work effectively alongside teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
