We are currently recruiting for a passionate and proactive Psychology Graduate to join a vibrant, welcoming primary school in Middleton (Rochdale). This long-term opportunity begins in Sept 2026 and offers the chance to make a genuine impact on the early educational journeys of young children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Your Role as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
As a primary LSA, you will provide critical early-years or key stage support to both pupils and teaching staff. Your responsibilities will include:
- Tailored Primary Support: Assisting in the delivery of personalised phonics, reading, and numeracy, working with primary-aged pupils individually or in small groups.
- Engaging Sensory & Play Work: Supporting younger pupils in sensory activities and structured play that promote social engagement, communication, and motor skill development.
- Resource Preparation: Helping to prepare visual aids, workstations, and creative materials that enhance the primary classroom learning experience.
- Feedback and Communication: Providing insightful feedback to class teachers and parents about a child’s daily progress, milestones, and engagement.
- Specialist Support: Working closely with pupils who have Autism (ASD), speech and language delays, and other complex needs, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.
