We are recruiting for a dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive specialist school in West Sussex, working with pupils who require additional support to reach their full potential. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver engaging English lessons while helping students develop confidence, communication skills and a love of learning.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging English lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Differentiating teaching to support a range of learning abilities and communication styles.
  • Fostering a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider school team.
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies to maximise achievement.

About the Pupils:

The school supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level
  • A passion for inclusive education
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous experience within an SEN setting is desirable but not essential
