This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young children develop, learn and thrive during the early stages of their education. The role will involve supporting children across the Reception class, including pupils with additional needs such as speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and autism.

The school is looking for someone who can bring energy, patience and a nurturing approach to the classroom, helping every child feel safe, included and supported to reach their full potential.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities.
  • Providing support to Reception-aged children across the EYFS curriculum.
  • Offering additional support to children with speech, language and communication needs and autism.
  • Encouraging the development of communication, social skills, independence and emotional regulation.
  • Supporting children to access learning activities in a way that meets their individual needs.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, helping them feel confident and secure in the classroom.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Helping maintain a safe, stimulating and engaging classroom where all children can flourish.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children in a primary school, nursery or EYFS setting.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly autism and speech, language and communication needs, would be highly beneficial.
  • A patient, caring and nurturing approach, with the ability to adapt to different children’s needs.
  • A genuine passion for early years education and supporting children’s development.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Someone proactive, reliable and enthusiastic who enjoys working as part of a team.
  • A commitment to helping every child feel included, valued and supported.

  • Access to free CPD and professional development opportunities.
  • Opportunities to gain valuable experience across local primary schools.
  • Support with the Enhanced DBS process, where required.
