Engage Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding specialist college supporting students with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, including ASD and complex needs. Learners follow a personalised curriculum designed to promote both their academic progress and personal development. The college places a strong emphasis on building students’ independence, helping them develop the skills they need to become confident and active members of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners in the classroom and in small group or one-to-one settings, adapting support to meet individual needs.
  • Assist the lecturer in the delivery of teaching and learning activities within the assigned curriculum area.
  • Help organise learning experiences in a clear and structured way that supports each student’s development.
  • Support assessment, target setting, recording, and reporting by providing feedback on learner progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and external professionals as required.
