Autism Support Worker – Primary and Special Needs Schools in Wakefield
I am currently working with multiple schools in Wakefield who are urgently seeking an Autism Support Worker to support their pupils, with an immediate start available.
About the role:
The needs of the pupils they cater for include:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) – verbal and non-verbal
- Learning difficulties
- Complex needs
We welcome applicants with a strong understanding of working with children and young people with severe ASC and profound, multiple learning difficulties, who are enthusiastic about supporting pupil development and progress within a specialist setting.
You will ideally have experience supporting children with special educational needs, or a genuine passion for working with pupils with additional needs. Experience with Theatre in Education (TIE) or delivering workshops with children is beneficial. By being proactive and taking initiative, you will build positive relationships with pupils and gain experience working across a wide range of needs.
