Reception Teaching Assistant Required for a Mainstream Primary School in East Leeds
About the role:
At Engage Education, we’ve specialised in recruiting teaching assistants for over a decade, so we know a bit about finding the ideal school for you. We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil on a 1:1 basis temporarily at a fantastic primary school in East Leeds. This will be full time and will be starting September 2025.
We are on the look out for applicants with professional experience with the following needs:
- Autism
- ADHD
- Global Development Delay
- Medical needs such as; Epilepsy, Diabetes, Cerebral Palsy, Wheelchair bound etc
- Non-verbal
- Speech and Language
- SEMH
- PMLD
Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we’re looking for more high-quality teaching assistants to work with these schools to positively impact the progress and attainment of their pupils.
Our Reception Teaching Assistants’ duties can include:
- Working with small groups of pupils
- Working on a one-to-one basis with children with additional needs
- Providing personal and emotional care for pupils when needed
- Managing classroom behaviour
The ideal applicant will have:
- Some experience working with young children or in a UK school setting within the last 2 years
- A real passion for education and improving the attainment of pupils
- Bags of creativity for stimulating and engaging pupils
- Level 3 support staff qualification is desired but is not essential providing you have professional Special Needs experience
The school you will be working in:
- A school with a Good OFSTED rating
- Supportive leadership and a low student-to-teacher ratio.
