KS1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Halifax

About the role:

At Engage Education, we’ve been matching great teaching assistants with fantastic schools for over ten years. We’re currently looking for a caring and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Halifax on a temporary basis.

You’ll be supporting children in Reception and Key Stage 1, helping them build confidence in reading, writing, and number skills while encouraging their curiosity and love of learning.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils in small groups and on a one-to-one basis
  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
  • Helping to create a fun and nurturing classroom environment
  • Working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning experiences

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Some experience working with young children or in a primary school
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • A passion for supporting early learning and child development
  • A patient, kind, and positive approach to working with children
