Autism Support Worker – Primary Schools – Halifax
We are currently looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming team in primary schools across Halifax. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with autism and complex needs.
About the Role Autism Support Worker:
You will be supporting primary-age pupils with:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) – both verbal and non-verbal
- Learning difficulties
- Complex needs
Your role will involve helping pupils engage with their learning, develop independence, and achieve their goals. You\’ll work closely with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to create a positive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
About You:
We welcome applicants who have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with autism or special educational needs
- A passion for working with neurodiverse individuals and promoting their well-being
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships
- A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to different needs and situations
Experience in education, care, youth work, or running workshops with children is an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
