Location: On-site Role, Birmingham, UK Employment Type: Contract for Services Role Overview: Responsible for ensuring that all Contractors execute tasks in an efficient, organized, and safe manner. By leveraging coordination mechanisms collaborate with Contractors prior to site visits. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing work and ensuring that contractors have integrated plans, ensuring Permit to Work requirements are met, that the scope of work is clearly understood and efficiently managed, and that Contractors have arranged necessary on-site support such as resources, scaffolding, cranes, and materials. In addition to supervising and coordinating daily activities, the Site Coordinator will play a key role in planning and optimizing site-based activities. This proactive approach aims to minimize Contractor downtime, increase efficiency, meet activity deadlines and avoid additional costs. Support in delivery will be provided from a remote centre of excellence – specialist resources will be available as needed to provide technical, project management and other support as needed. Key Responsibilities: Contractor management & coordination – Lead weekly and monthly meetings, collaborate with Contractors to optimize performance and reduce delivery costs. Manage daily interfaces, address critical activity needs and support requirements. Supervision – Oversee the daily execution of activities on site, ensuring adherence to HSSE standards, schedule, and quality requirements. Work Package Development – Coordinate with relevant supporting resources for package development, review and communication with Contractors. Hold quarterly meetings with Contractors to communicate upcoming projects and workload expectations. Design Coordination – Manage design communication, clarification and technical questions between the Contractor(s), EngCo’s design centre and other involved parties. Contractor Performance – Align with clients Site leadership/Contracting & Procurement team to ensure that requirements are clearly defined and included in contracts for Safety, QA/QC, Project Controls, Financial Reporting, Value of Work Done and invoicing. Contracting Strategy – Support Contracting & Procurement as needed, with scope split, commercial structure and execution approach. Provide input/assessment for contractor pre-qualification and technical evaluation. HSSE & Quality – Coordinate Permit to Work (PTW) processes and method statements, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality requirements. Key Performance Indicators and Reporting – Coordinate the development and implementation of performance objectives that align with overall goals. Collaborate with Contractors to ensure reports are completed and issued in a timely manner. Required skills & experience: 10-15 years’ experience in site construction supervision, asset management & work pack engineering. Accredited trades background and/or engineering degree Team player, collaborative and proactive approach – self motivated and able to deal with multiple stakeholders. Good negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to drive process improvements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Some familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Asset Management and/or maintenance/small project knowledge.
