  • Prepare data and information for the monthly reporting process;
  • Maintain budgets for specific areas;
  • Confirm budgets when recruitment occurs;
  • Clear error suspense items rejected by the finance system;
  • Analyze variances to identify reasons for over- and underspends;
  • Upload budget and actuals data to the Financial General Ledger;
  • Contribute to the annual Business Planning and Budget-setting process;
  • Maintain and update Pay budgets;
  • Perform other required financial work;
  • Work with budget holders and Finance colleagues;
  • Liaise with Finance team members, budget holders, Procurement, Human Resources, IT, Corporate areas, and Trust Auditors;
  • Support the department and organization with duties within the scope of the role;
  • Comply with Health, Safety and Welfare requirements;
  • Complete Mandatory Training;
  • Work across the site occasionally when required

  • Degree, AAT Certificate, or equivalent experience;
  • Good Excel spreadsheet skills;
  • Experience working with management accounts, or degree-level understanding of management accounting;
  • Knowledge of financial systems and accounting processes;
  • Experience manipulating large data sets, or degree-level experience and understanding of working with large data sets;
  • Ability to explain complex data and information issues, provide advice for sound decision-making, and recommend actions;
  • Flexible approach to working within a large organization;
  • Methodical approach with accuracy in data input and calculation;
  • Nice to have: Studying toward a CCAB qualification or wishing to commence study toward a CCAB qualification, previous NHS experience, prior experience with Oracle Financials software.
