About The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Head Office (HO) Accountant is responsible for providing an efficient and confidential accounting and support service to the HO Department Heads and Senior management team for aspects for all departments.
The role is responsible for preparing, maintaining and reporting accurate Head Office cost information, ensuring that financial data is current, reliable and available to support the effective management of Head Office activities and projects.
The role will be based at Head Office in London, with travel required to support key stakeholders across the company’s other sites, including Parc Adfer, Ferrybridge, Kelvin, Kemsley and Skelton Grange, as business needs require.
- What you will bring
- You must be able to manage purchase order reporting, accruals and reconciliations across purchasing and sales processes, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and supported by appropriate documentation.
- You will be able to prepare and process month end journals, variance analysis and cash flow reports
- You will be able to prepare, review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
- You will be able to ensure all projects are recorded accurately in the ledgers and any variances are fully understood.
- You will be able to participate in month-end reviews for Head Office with the wider finance team, providing analysis and commentary on performance, variances and key financial movements.
- You will be able to provide support to the FP&A team with the budget process.
- You are a team player and will be able to provide support to the team as required, including cover for other roles as needed.
- You are able to business partner with managers and departments at Head Office to support effective budget management, cost control full adherence to financial controls.
- You are able to identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Desirable qualifications
- Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths.
- Qualified in CIMA/ACCA.
- Experience of working in a similar environment will be an advantage.
- Computer literate – with excellent MS Office and Excel skills
- Experience of Business partnering
