About The Role
Are you a proactive leader with a passion for operational efficiency and teamwork? Join us as a Day Team Leader, where you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our waste reception and ash disposal plant, ensuring safety, compliance, and performance excellence as well as when needed to step into the role of a Shift Team Leader supporting the operations team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct a team to ensure safe, efficient facility operations and compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and safety requirements.
- Manage training programs, develop staff through performance appraisals and succession planning, and enforce corporate safety rules as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
- Oversee operational activities, including resource management, maintenance scheduling, waste management, and accurate record-keeping for compliance and reporting.
- Conduct investigations, address grievances, manage disciplinary actions, and lead recruitment and onboarding processes within budgeted headcount.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety, addressing performance shortfalls and fostering collaboration across departments.
- Troubleshoot equipment, ensure proper inspections, and manage relationships with third-party providers and contractors.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead the Day Team Operations and contracted service providers, including recruitment, performance management, and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ operational/maintenance experience in power generation or similar industries.
- Recognised SAP/HV switching qualifications and knowledge of waste duty of care (e.g., COTC). Desirable
- Relevant professional memberships (IMECHe, IOSH, CIWM) preferred.
