Enfield Youth Justice Service is recruiting an Intensive Youth Support Officer to help us deliver high-quality, innovative work. About The Role

This is a key position focused on delivering impactful interventions for young people involved in the criminal justice system. The post holder will:

  • Support children subject to an Intensive Supervision and Surveillance (ISS) requirement.
  • Visit children in custody and assist with resettlement planning and delivery upon release.

We need someone who is resourceful, organised, and creative—skilled at building positive, trusting relationships with young people and families, confident in challenging harmful attitudes and behaviours, and able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver structured programmes addressing a range of needs, including offence-specific interventions and life skills.
  • Use a trauma-informed approach when engaging with young people.
  • Provide support, guidance, and advocacy while challenging views and behaviours that may lead to further offending.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records in line with national standards.
  • Work flexibly across different sites, including face-to-face work in the secure estate, office-based duties, and home visits.

We aim to see children as children within youth justice services—treating them fairly, building on their strengths, and supporting rehabilitation so they can make positive contributions to society. This role is central to achieving that vision by supporting young people subject to ISS, in custody, and during their transition and resettlement back into the community or adult services.
