Job Description
The Families & Singles Service was established to assist applicants threatened with homelessness or already homeless to sustain their current accommodation or move into suitable private rented housing. The service collaborates with partners to improve resilience and housing stability under Enfield’s Early Help strategy.
The Homeless Families & Singles team provides expert advice and works closely with courts, solicitors, and Enfield’s legal department to prevent homelessness. The Homeless Housing Coordinator will be part of the Families Team, focusing on preventing homelessness through legal and policy expertise.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of welfare, homelessness reduction act, housing and homelessness policy, case law, legislation, courts, possession orders, and evictions.
- Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
- Significant experience in providing specialist homelessness casework, especially for clients with complex needs.
- Experience working collaboratively to improve outcomes for homeless individuals.
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service to clients with complex needs.
- Knowledge of legislation, strategies, policies, and initiatives at various levels.
- Experience attending court and presenting cases regarding homelessness decisions.
- Proven ability to meet performance objectives in homelessness casework.
- Ability to share and embed best practices within the team and organization.
- Effective communication skills with stakeholders, applicants, and partners.
- Understanding of welfare, homelessness, and housing policies and legislation.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and service performance.
- Political awareness and understanding of organizational transformation.
