Enfield Council is seeking a Finance Assistant to join the Finance Business Partnering team - Education and Schools Finance Team. The role involves supporting a busy finance team by providing timely and high-quality customer service to schools and Council staff regarding payments, queries, and other finance-related tasks.
Key duties include:
- Calculating and updating monthly payments to schools using the Council's schools advances system.
- Completing financial reconciliations and investigating any imbalances.
- Checking and following up on schools' finance returns.
- Liaising with Council staff and schools to resolve queries.
- Proactively seeking process improvements.
Candidates should have strong numeracy and literacy skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting. Previous finance experience and enjoyment in interacting with people are desirable.
Enfield offers a hybrid working arrangement, with staff expected to attend the office at least once every other week.
