A vacancy has arisen in the Finance Business Partnering team – Education and Schools Finance Team for a Finance Assistant.

The role will support a busy finance team providing timely and high standards of customer service to schools and other Council staff in respect of payments to schools and dealing with queries and other finance related tasks. Key duties include:

  • Calculating and updating monthly payments to schools using the Council’s schools advances system

  • Completing financial reconciliations and ensuring that any imbalances are investigated and resolved

  • Checking and following up on monthly and quarterly schools finance returns

  • Liaising with Council staff and schools to deal with queries

  • Pro-actively seeking opportunities to improve processes

To be suitable for the role you need to have strong numeracy and literacy skills, have good attention to detail and work accurately. You will also have good IT skills, specifically using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and accounting skills.

Enfield offers a hybrid working arrangement with an expectation that staff will be in the office at least one day every other week as a minimum.
