An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Enfield Trading Standards. We are recruiting a Senior Fair Trading Officer to help support and deliver on our Council Priorities. As a Council, we are committed to improving our Borough for our residents, businesses, and visitors. Working within a small team, the post holder will be expected to undertake the full range of trading standards duties. This will involve the investigation of complaints and preparation of criminal prosecution files across all trading standards disciplines including rogue traders, product safety, fair trading, vapes, age related sales, intellectual property, and metrology control (where qualified).
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- IT skills: You need to be confident in using computer systems, including MS Office software.
- Customer care: You will have the ability to deal sensitively with residents, businesses, and councillors, with the highest standard of customer care.
- Social competence: You have excellent people skills and a pragmatic approach to problem solving and conflict resolution. You must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Qualification: You must hold the DCATS or equivalent qualification relating to Trading Standards.
