An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Enfield Communication Advisory Support Service (ECASS). We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. The role is open to newly qualified therapists as well as experienced therapists. Pay will be awarded at the Local Authority equivalent of a Band 6 NHS salary and based on experience.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will be part of the extended ECASS multi-professional team working in Additional Resource Provisions (ARPs), Units and in Mainstream Primary/Secondary schools.
- Improve provision for pupils with speech, language and communication needs by providing ARP/Unit and school-wide training in evidence-based frameworks, enhancing pupils’ school experience and access to a range of speech, language and communication tools.
- Deliver consistent messages that support early speech, language and communication development and make it clear that “communication is everybody’s business.”
- Promote an early intervention approach across Enfield schools, ensuring children and young people access communication-friendly environments and practitioners are confident in facilitating communication.
- Identify SLCN and support parents and carers with appropriate information and resources.
- Offer practical strategies and assessments to support children and young people placed in Local Authority ARPs and Units.
- Support settings to meet the needs of children with speech, language and communication needs who are not achieving at the same rate as peers, including those with long-term developmental concerns and statutory-level needs.
- Provide ARPs and Units with a suitable model of supervision and ongoing professional development for the school workforce.

- Qualifications and experience related to speech and language therapy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-professional environment and to engage with schools, families and communities to support communication development.
