We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker to join our Mental Health Enablement Team at the London Borough of Enfield. This role supports adults with severe and enduring mental health needs to live independently within the community, prevents unnecessary hospital admissions and supports timely discharge.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload of adults with severe mental health needs.
  • Conduct strengths‑based assessments.
  • Collaborate with Community Mental Health Teams, hospital services, housing providers and voluntary organisations to deliver person‑centred support.
  • Provide professional leadership within the team, acting as a Practice Educator.
  • Undertake Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) work where qualified.
  • Deputise for the Service Manager, attending Mental Health Resource Panels and representing the service at key meetings.

Qualifications

  • Senior Social Worker with relevant experience in mental health.
  • Experience managing complex caseloads and conducting assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and voluntary organisations.
  • Qualified to work as a Practice Educator and/or DoLS Assessor (or willing to undertake training).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of practitioners.
