Are you an excellent team member with good knowledge in children social care data, backend SQL, MS Excel skills, and report writing skills in Power BI? Are you able to generate insights to develop our Children Social Care transformation and Education services?
We are currently working on a children social care transformation programme, where you will check the quality of data, develop reports, generate insights to improve services, and submit statutory returns by collaborating with services. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Data Science and Technical Lead to work within our Data & Intelligence team in the People Department at Enfield Council.
Within this role, you will lead linking various data sources in SQL and Python, ensuring timely and accurate statutory returns submission, performance development, and analysis service within the People department services in children’s social care transformation, education services, community safety, public health intelligence, and youth justice service. You will be responsible for:
- Leading, developing, maintaining, testing, and improving processes (defining data with services, understanding service requirements, data extraction, analysis, and reporting) to inform the strategic direction of the People department and improve operational activity.
- Collating, managing, and analysing data from various teams and services across the People directorate, producing information reports for service performance, statutory returns, and improving outcomes.
- Producing a wide range of reports using MS Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, and employing various analytical techniques such as Python, SQL, and Business Objects.
- Ensuring the integrity of data and benchmarking our performance against national and regional peers.
- Working with children social care and education services to improve data quality in Liquidlogic Children's Case Management and Access Synergy education systems, as well as Adult Social Care systems such as Eclipse and CareFirst.
We are looking for an experienced candidate with children social care transformation data, combined with the ability to communicate and influence people from a range of health and social care professionals and other stakeholders. Candidates should have demonstrable experience in presenting reports for a variety of audiences. Strong organisational skills are essential in this fast-paced and demanding environment.
You should have advanced knowledge of MS Office and reporting programmes such as SQL, Business Objects, Power BI, and preferably Python. Understanding confidentiality issues within a statutory service framework and knowledge of the UK General Data Protection Regulation is crucial. Excellent inter-personal skills and experience in producing high-quality performance and/or statistical data, submitting statutory returns timely and accurately, and presenting information to a wide audience are required. An excellent level of literacy and numeracy is also necessary.
