Job description for Data Science and Technical Lead (Data & Intelligence team) in Enfield Council People Department.

Overview

Lead linking data sources in SQL and Python, produce timely and accurate statutory returns, performance reporting and analytics across people department services for children social care, education, adult social care, community safety, public health intelligence, early help and youth justice services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, maintenance, testing and improvement of data extraction, transformation, analysis and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with statutory returns and report officers to collate, manage and analyse data from various teams and services.
  • Generate insights and reports using SQL, Power BI, Business Objects, MS Excel and Python to inform strategic direction and operational improvements.
  • Ensure integrity of data and compliance with statutory requirements and UK GDPR.
  • Provide high quality performance and statutory return submissions in a timely manner.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders via PowerPoint, Word and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and backend data development.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Business Objects and MS Excel.
  • Python experience preferred.
  • Experience in health and social care datasets and statutory reporting.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, able to present reports to varied audiences.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection in statutory service framework.
  • Good literacy and numeracy, experience producing high quality performance and statistical data.
