Job Description
Are you looking to start a meaningful career in housing and public service? Enfield Council’s Voids and Lettings Team is offering an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Apprentice.
As an apprentice, you’ll provide essential administrative support to the Lettings Team and the Under-occupation & Downsizing Officer. This role will give you the chance to rotate across different functions within the team, helping you build a broad understanding of housing services.

What we are looking for:

  • Resident within the London Borough of Enfield.
  • We welcome diversity and multi-lingual speakers who would strengthen our service offer to our local communities.
  • Apprenticeships are open to 16 and over and not in full-time education.
  • Dedication to learning and gaining new skills and an interest in supporting Enfield Council.
  • Knowledge of IT/Technical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be key for the regular interaction with colleagues from across the Council at all levels of seniority.
  • GCSE grade A*-C (grade 4-9 in the new GCSE qualification grades) in English and Maths or equivalents. You will be asked to provide evidence of Maths and English certificates or predicted grades

Management and Supervision
You will be working under the guidance and supervision of an experienced member of staff. We also have a dedicated Apprenticeship Team that support you throughout your Apprenticeship journey.
Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for delivering to a high standard the business support to ensure effective operation of the services. Including but not limited to data entry and analysis, record keeping, customer care focused reception duties, panel, meeting and event support, and understanding service specific administrative tasks.
  • Proactively develop skills, understanding and abilities in delivering support services in order to carry out standardised processes in a consistent and efficient manner
  • Deal professionally and effectively with all contacts from a wide range of people, using tact and discretion, assessing needs and re-directing enquiries, where appropriate.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge to ensure effective utilisation of IT systems used
  • Maintain accurate and effective communication with your line manager (to include the provision of reports and presentations) ensuring that they are regularly appraised of planned changes and developments
  • Provide a front line face-to-face/telephone service to customers, making suitable referrals to other service areas where appropriate and resolving enquiries to a high standard, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
