The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

We have an exciting employment opportunity to recruit an experienced Officer to work in the Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Team. You will be part of a committed enthusiastic team, focused on high performance and working to challenging financial and operational targets.

You will need a minimum of 2 years’ experience in processing Housing Benefit and the Council Tax Reduction scheme, which includes complex assessments such as Universal Credit, Self-Employed, Students, and Persons from Abroad. You will help those on low income to sustain their tenancies, ensuring their benefits are maximised.

You will work using your own initiative and prioritise conflicting deadlines, managing your time efficiently with good communication skills. A good standard of numeracy and literacy is required, effectively responding to enquiries received by letter, telephone, and e-mail.

You will need to understand and be responsive to customers’ needs, always presenting a positive and professional image to the customer, whilst ensuring effective engagement with vulnerable and challenging customers.

We offer hybrid working; however, we are flexible taking into consideration personal circumstances. The contracted hours are 36 hours a week, and we offer a flexible working hours policy.
