The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are creating a new Credit Controller role to join our growing finance team. This is a pivotal position in the finance function and a key contributor to our commercial success. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Group's receivables ledger, building strong relationships with clients and internal teams, and ensuring timely collection of payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the Group's accounts receivable process across multiple entities and trading divisions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, in the construction sector.
- Liaise with operational teams and Directors to resolve disputes, provide clarity on billing, and ensure prompt payment.
- Monitor credit limits and assess customer creditworthiness in line with company policy.
- Provide regular cash collection forecasts and debtor analysis to the Financial Controller.
- Assist with process improvements in invoicing and collections to support scalability.
- Support finance month-end close by ensuring accurate aged debtor reporting and reconciliations.
Skills / Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a credit control role, preferably in the construction.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a diplomatic but firm approach.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working with multiple ledgers/entities within a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a growing finance team.
- Understanding of construction payment cycles.
