What will I be doing in this role?
We're looking for a practical and technically minded Technology Installation & Maintenance Electrician to join our team in Cornwall. This is a hands-on field-based role where you'll install, connect, maintain and fault-find a range of technology and infrastructure equipment across Cornwall.
You will work with equipment including CCTV and ANPR cameras, rising bollards, Highways pumps and other electronic technology, helping to make sure it's installed correctly, connected safely and kept operational. And because our equipment is used in a wide range of environments, no two days will necessarily look the same. You could be working outdoors, at customer sites or within other operational environments across Cornwall.
We are open to applications from qualified Electricians who want to broaden their skills and take on something a little different. If you're used to working on domestic or commercial projects and fancy a change of scene - this could be the perfect next step.
In a typical day, you could expect to be:
- Installing and mounting CCTV, ANPR cameras and other technology equipment.
- Running, terminating and connecting cables and associated equipment.
- Connecting cameras and equipment to power and network infrastructure.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Fault-finding and diagnosing issues with equipment, cabling, power and network connections.
- Replacing, repairing or adjusting equipment where required.
- Carrying out testing and basic commissioning to make sure equipment is installed and operating correctly.
- Working from installation drawings, technical instructions and planned maintenance schedules.
- Using access equipment and working at height where required.
- Completing accurate records of work carried out and reporting any further issues or repairs required.
- Working safely at a variety of locations across Cornwall and representing Enerveo professionally when working with customers and other site teams.
What do I need to be successful in the role?
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is comfortable working with technology. You will have:
- A qualification as an Electrician with a NVQ Level 3 and AM2 or equivalent Qualification.
- To achieve the higher salary, you must hold a City and Guilds 2391 (Inspect and Test) qualification.
- Good practical knowledge of electrical and/or electronic systems, cabling and connections.
- Experience fault-finding and diagnosing technical issues.
- The ability to read and follow technical drawings, instructions and installation plans.
- A methodical approach and good attention to detail. Getting the installation right first time matters.
- The ability to work independently, manage your workload and solve problems on site.
- A full UK driving licence, as you'll be travelling between different locations across Cornwall.
- This role requires you to be able to achieve (NPPB2 and/or GSAT and CTC).
Some of our nice to haves are:
- Previous experience installing and maintaining CCTV, ANPR or similar electronic technology systems.
- IPAF/PASMA working at heights training.
- A good knowledge of the 18th Edition.
- A Level 3 qualification in Electronic Security Systems, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related subject.
We can however support the right candidate to achieve any level of industry training/qualifications they may not have in the nice to have list.
