This position will be focusing primarily on our Motive Power applications, which include industrial lift trucks and pallet jacks, rail equipment, mining equipment, and airline ground support equipment. Some of the motive power brands include Hawker, Ironclad, General Battery, and Fiamm. Wherever there is a need for motive power, EnerSys offers the perfect energy solution.
Job Purpose
To identify new business opportunities within the Rental and Aftermarket sectors to support business growth. To achieve agreed personal objectives and targets by developing and selling to both new and existing clients, in line with company guidelines and policies. The primary objective of this field-based role is to fully support the UK Sales Manager in achieving business goals, with a strong focus on customer engagement and business development across the Midlands and South England.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet customers face-to-face, via phone, and through email to foster strong business relationships.
- Develop a tailored strategy for each client, identifying their aims, needs, and creating objective-based action plans with clear timelines.
- Build and maintain new relationships with potential clients, laying the foundation for future business opportunities.
- Research and identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, and innovative ways to reach customers.
- Utilise technology to effectively develop and present objectives, strategies, status reports, and other relevant communications to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate leads and prospects through proactive outreach including cold calling (in person, phone, and email).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve client performance issues promptly and act as an effective crisis manager when necessary.
- Ensure full adherence to the company’s Levels of Authority (LOAs), and follow proper procedures for any requests to deviate from them.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, maintaining strong commercial awareness.
- Ensure all client visits are documented through team visit reports.
- Foster strong synergy among Service, Technical, and Sales departments to provide comprehensive client support.
- Work closely with the Service department to jointly develop and grow service revenue within each client account.
- Submit all required documentation—including activity sheets, loss reports, call plans, expenses, and related paperwork—within agreed timelines.
