Job Purpose
To professionally manage relationships with land related security, defence and peacekeeping customers, so that EnerSys is the preferred electrical power system partner/supplier. The purpose is to grow our influence and sales with our existing customers along with developing additional sales with new customers in Europe.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Take sales responsibility for specific territories/countries/customers; develop customer account sales plans with objectives and tactical plans.
- Regularly visit and communicate with customers to understand their technical and commercial needs, building long-term relationships.
- Organize and support customer visits to plants with local plant representatives.
- Develop relationships with end users to improve operational feedback.
- Contribute to and develop sales pipelines.
- Capture market intelligence to update customer/prospect stakeholder mapping data.
- Develop and present sales material; deliver product demonstrations for batteries and battery management systems.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to understand market trends and competitor activity.
- Have thorough knowledge of customer tender/procurement processes and decision makers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of battery and power management technology.
- Produce professional and tailored offers maximizing value for EnerSys and the customer.
- Manage pricing attentively to maintain margin; work with or manage price lists as appropriate.
- Collaborate with local country sales teams, shared service centre, and manufacturing plants to prepare offers, process orders, and ensure customer deliveries meet expectations.
- Conduct contract review activities with manufacturing plants where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with export licenses and other regulatory requirements.
- Support and engage in warranty claims.
- Participate in regular forecasting, planning, and reporting activities, including CRM usage.
- Work with marketing to identify and nurture prospects and business development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Strong sales experience with a demonstrable track record.
- Relevant electrical/electronics engineering or science qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the defense sector, Ministry of Defence, and/or OEM.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Credible, confident, and compelling presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new ideas contributing to business growth.
- Driving license.
Job Requirements
- Essential: Willingness to undertake considerable lone travel throughout Europe. Work from home with travel; occasional visits to the office or plant required. Ability to work seamlessly with a team, showing trustworthiness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Desirable: Ability to speak/write in Polish, French, or German. Knowledge of armoured vehicles, particularly electrical power systems. Knowledge of battery technologies, battery monitoring/management, and related technology. Prior operational experience in the military. Key account management experience. CRM experience.
