Compensation Range: 43900-54900. Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.

Job Purpose

The shipper/receiver plays a key role in keeping products moving safely, accurately, and on time. This role typically combines warehouse operations, inventory control, and safety compliance, with extra care due to the nature of battery products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receiving
    • Unload incoming shipments of batteries, chargers, and related materials
    • Verify deliveries against purchase orders (correct items, quantities, and condition)
    • Inspect products for damage, leaks, or defects in adherence to health and safety standards
    • Label, scan, and record inventory in the warehouse system
    • Store products in designated, compliant locations
  • Shipping
    • Pick and prepare orders for customers or internal distribution
    • Package batteries and chargers according to safety and transportation regulations
    • Prepare shipping documentation (packing slips, bills of lading, hazmat paperwork if required)
    • Load outbound shipments and coordinate with carriers
  • Inventory & Warehouse Support
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts
    • Rotate stock (where applicable)
    • Keep shipping and receiving areas clean and organized
    • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Follow hazardous material (hazmat) and DOT/TDG guidelines where applicable
    • Handle lead‑acid, lithium, or industrial batteries using proper PPE and equipment
    • Monitor storage conditions (ventilation, spill containment, charging areas)
    • Report spills, damages, or safety concerns immediately
  • Equipment & Tools
    • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment
    • Use warehouse management systems, scanners, and shipping software
  • Other
    • Serve as a backup to service center technicians when needed
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and/or Experience: One to two years’ industry related experience; or equivalent combination of technical education and industry experience. Must be able to use basic hand tools, hand truck, pallet jack and other material handling equipment.
  • Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of customers and personnel.
  • Mathematical Skills: An understanding of basic math skills.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions which lead to proper customer solutions.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Forklift certificate.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office, and the Internet.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Team player. Excellent organizational skills. Highly professional.

General Job Requirements

  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
