Overview

As an Application Engineer, you translate customer needs into practical, commercially viable product solutions and support sales through technical leadership in the EMEA region. You will manage engineered projects from inquiry to delivery, partner with Design Engineering, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure quality and timely outcomes. This hybrid, customer-facing role blends technical problem-solving with business sense to drive profitable growth. You will engage with customers, service centres, and partners to resolve technical issues and support audits.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requirements and propose suitable solutions (standard, modified, or engineered)
  • Perform technical calculations to validate proposals
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to meet technical and quality standards
  • Develop cost-effective solutions aligned with customer needs and growth
  • Respond to technical inquiries from customers, distributors, and colleagues
  • Coordinate with Enerpac technical teams for timely delivery
  • Review inquiries to extract technical and commercial requirements
  • Work with Sales, Engineering and Projects to prepare proposals and quotations
  • Ensure technical accuracy of bid proposals and documentation
  • Provide product and technical information during bids
  • Support commercial teams in developing opportunities across EMEA
  • Build trusted relationships with customers at technical and commercial levels
  • Present Enerpac portfolio to customers and identify solutions
  • Support contract discussions with Regional and Key Account Managers
  • Act as technical contact for Service Centres and provide aftersales support
  • Assist with audits in partnership with Service Centre Manager
  • Attend customer sites to investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Coordinate technical projects from enquiry to delivery
  • Verify requirements and handover project information to Operations
  • Maintain relationships with Engineering, Production, Operations, Customer Service and commercial teams
  • Monitor technical requirements, timelines and expectations
  • Identify solutions to onsite challenges
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout projects
  • Support safe project delivery per HSEQ standards
  • Contribute in team meetings and support forecasting
  • Follow Enerpac HSEQ and safety policies
  • Represent Enerpac professionally with customers, partners and colleagues
  • Follow company policies and processes
  • Promote a safety-focused working environment

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and at least five years’ relevant experience in application engineering or customer-facing roles
  • Experience in industrial/OEM/manufacturing environments
  • Ability to translate requirements into engineered product solutions
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Commercial awareness including understanding cost and value
  • Ability to read 2D/3D drawings and perform engineering calculations
  • Project coordination or project management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with diverse teams
  • Independent and able to manage priorities
  • English proficiency; additional European languages advantageous
  • Willingness to travel ~25%
