The Role
An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a Valve Technician to join EnerMech in supporting the UK\\\’s flagship Low Carbon Nuclear project.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe strip down, inspection, repair, and rebuild of a wide range of nuclear-grade valves on site. Working as part of a large, collaborative team, you will be expected to carry out all tasks with the highest attention to quality control, organisation, and tidiness, maintaining a clean and safe work environment is essential on this high-profile project.
You may be from the Somerset area or within a commutable distance ideally, however candidates from out with the area may be considered, with the understanding that they would need to live away from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the inspection, testing, repair, and rebuild of various types and sizes of valves
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance procedures
- Maintain a clean, well-organised workspace at all times
- Accurately document work completed, including inspection and test reports
- Represent EnerMech\\\’s standards of professionalism and technical excellence on site
- Contribute positively to a large team delivering critical infrastructure safely and efficiently
The Requirements
- A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent formal qualification
- Proven experience in the repair and maintenance of valves (control, manual, safety relief, etc.)
- A strong understanding of quality control procedures and the importance of cleanliness and organisation
- Experience working within large, multi-disciplinary teams on complex industrial or energy projects (nuclear preferred but not essential)
- A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious mindset
