An exciting permanent opportunity has opened up for a Lifting Manager to join EnerMech on the UK's Low Carbon Nuclear project based in Bridgwater, Somerset. The purpose of the role is to ensure the site and associated developments maintain compliance with its arrangements and promote best practice, and to establish and implement a world class approach to lifting on the construction site.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and co‑ordinate the lifting department activities and resources to ensure full compliance with agreed lifting and PC Standards and expectations.
- Establish and maintain lifting standards and policies aligned with the associated levels of risk for health, safety, lifting and temporary works, and monitor their delivery on site.
- Ensure the department activities, including those undertaken by delivery partners and supply chain, are performed with full regard to NSL arrangements, statutory regulations, company and location directives, procedures and lifting rules, and promote the use of operation experience feedback.
- Manage the lifting team activities to provide a professional, customer‑based quality service in all aspects of lifting and PC standards and regulatory interfaces.
- Ensure the project develops a strong project culture that is consistent with recognised nuclear safety culture.
Requirements for this role include a CPCS Appointed Persons blue card (competent operator) and ECITB Appointed Person Moving Loads TAP01. Candidates should have the ability to establish a vision and develop/implement strategy to attain it, and possess knowledge of national and international HSE standards including CDM regulations, LOLER and BS5975. Experience managing multi‑disciplined teams and construction industry knowledge is essential. A proven track record in nuclear power is preferred, as is good knowledge of large projects and site operations.
