Requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer to deliver high value protection and control schemes for electricity distribution projects, based in Colchester with good rates of pay.
Proficient in:
- Design of control and protection schemes for HV and EHV substations
- Production of main connections and protection drawings
- Calculation of protection settings
- Cable calculations up to 132 kV
- Substation design experience at 11 kV, 33 kV, 66 kV or 132 kV
- Design experience of up to 400 kV would be ideal but not a prerequisite
- Understanding the electrical aspects of power supplies, substations or cabling/overhead line projects from LV up to and including 132 kV
- Power systems studies, such as load flow and short circuit studies
- Ideally aware of Electricity Network Regulations / National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) requirements
- DNO and IDNO design standards and approval processes
- ENA Engineering Recommendations
- Grid code for protection settings
- Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) requirements in the electricity industry
- Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Information Security requirements
