We’re looking for an experienced Senior OHL Design Engineer to join our team to support the continued growth of our Design function. The role will include aspects of design activities such as profiling, routing, load and strength, foundation design and conductor selection studies. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, we are looking for individuals that are not just technically competent but also keen problem solvers with an ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels. The role also includes project and programme planning, inter-disciplinary co-ordination and design process development.

The role is based in Copgrove, North Yorkshire, HG3 3TB.

Hours: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Pay: Competitive

Role specific responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, analysis, and delivery of complex overhead power line projects.
  • Produce and review detailed engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations and client requirements.
  • Manage and support project teams by providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Contribute to project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and programme scheduling activities.
  • Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to address technical and delivery challenges.
Experience required Skills:
  • Expert proficiency in PLS software and overhead line design tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
