Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Stores Person to support and coordinate the daily operations of their warehouse. This is a hands-on role, working closely with a small team to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of goods, inventory management, and stock record maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage day-to-day warehouse operations and team performance

  • Allocate tasks to warehouse staff and monitor workloads

  • Troubleshoot and resolve process flow issues as they arise

  • Train new and existing team members

  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new warehouse employees

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiency initiatives

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks

  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth workflow

  • Inspect warehouse vehicles, machinery, and equipment (e.g., forklifts, storage racks)

  • Maintain documentation for vehicles and equipment

  • Oversee scheduled maintenance and handle unplanned repairs of equipment

  • Organise and supervise stocktaking activities

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a regulated stores or logistics environment

  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to maintain digital stock records

  • Counterbalance Forklift License (preferred)

Contract Details:

  • Temporary-to-permanent opportunity

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)

  • Pay: Approximately £15.38 per hour (depending on experience)
