Our client, a leading provider in the pharmaceutical and automation sectors, is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in projects at various stages of design, development, testing, and implementation, ensuring projects are managed safely and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:- Travel to client sites for surveys, installations, and commissioning both in the UK and abroad
- Gather information needed to produce design solutions
- Provide engineering expertise in discussions with clients, including meetings and site visits
- Produce and update electrical schematics using AutoCAD, ensuring revisions are controlled appropriately
- Specify and create Bill of Materials (BOM) to enable purchase orders
- Develop PLC and HMI control software
- Participate in control panel testing and troubleshooting
- Involvement in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Assist in producing installation documentation for clients
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, installation engineers, and specialists
- Provide site supervision for contractors and act as the point of contact on site
- Adhere to policies and procedures relating to health and safety and quality management
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge relevant to the role
- Experience with PLCs and HMI
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; training can be provided
- Competent in using Microsoft Office packages
- Attention to detail and proactive approach
- Ability to use initiative and demonstrate a flexible approach
